Fouding member of the band in February 2013, Alice has remained as almost the backbone of the band. Having started drumming at the age of twelve, and having a brief break a year later, she has become a strong drummer; focusing a lot on groove and timing as appose to speed and blast beats. More recently in her musical career, she now teaches drums and bass at Birmingham Rockschool, who she has had lessons with since she was 12.
With influences from drummers such as Tommy Lee, Buddy Rich, Thomas Walling, Chad Smith and Nico McBrain, she brings a more sleazy, slightly glam feel to Aramantus. Making sure the drums don’t just fade into the background of the music, it’s very rare that Alice will put a boring beat in the original material she writes with the band. Alice and bassist, Cici Powell, work closely together and make a very tight knit rythym section, keeping the groove going alongside the kick ass guitars and vocals.
If you were to say Alice drums like a girl, not only will you probably get a drum stick thrown at you but you’ll also be suprised to see her practically beating the kit up and headbanging like there’s no tomorrow. Her drumming on and off stage reflects very much on her fiery personality, and practically signature, red hair. She gets her kicks, you could say, by being on stage playing music for people to enjoy.
The band has slowly become Alice’s baby and she finds herself very involved with the songwriting process, despite only being able to play Living on a Prayer (badly) on guitar. The four members, and their parents and relations have become like family to her and, as such, she loves everything to do with it.
Her influences include; Motley Crue, Poison, Iron Maiden, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Skid Row, W.A.S.P, Man O War, Halestorm, System Of A Down, Symphony X, Alterbridge and Unleash The Archers.
